LOONA’s label, BlockBerry Creative, has issued a statement addressing recent reports claiming that Chuu would be parting ways with the company.Yesterday (June 23), the South Korean music label took to the girl group’s official fancafe page to release an official statement addressing recent reports claiming that member Chuu had plans to depart from the label.These reports first surfaced earlier this week, with several outlets asserting that the K-pop idol was in talks to sign an exclusive contract with BY4M Studio, largely known to be a social media and digital marketing agency, after her departure from Blockberry Creative (BBC) is finalised.However, Blockberry Creative has since claimed that these “contents related to Chuu” are “groundless”. It added that the reports have “confused fans and the public with the expression of officials [from the company]”.“All the members of LOONA trust each other and cooperate for their dreams.

The group has also been appointed as ambassadors for the bid.Bang Si-Hyuk, chairman of BTS’ management agency HYBE, and the company’s CEO Park Jiwon on Friday (local time) signed an agreement with Busan Metropolitan City mayor Park Heong-joon.The deal commits the band to the concert and a range of related tasks.

Single’s Inferno contestant Kang So-yeon has teased her long-awaited return to music.The reality TV star, who rose to fame through Netflix’s hit dating series Single’s Inferno, announced yesterday (June 15) that she is set to return to music later this month with a brand-new single.Notably, Kang was once a K-pop idol, having made her debut as a member of the co-ed group WE in 2011 under the stage name Rosie. She later took a break from the entertainment industry after WE disbanded in 2013.The upcoming song has been described by Kang as a “special gift” for fans, and will be released by South Korean music label Brand New Music.

Netflix’s fading fortunes?The embattled streamer has announced they’re creating a real-life version of the gory South Korean survival show — with production slated to take place in the UK early next year. “Squid Game: The Challenge” is being billed as “the biggest reality competition series ever created” and will feature 456 contestants battling it out for a whopping $4.56 million in prize money. According to a press release put out by Netflix on Tuesday, the staggering sum will be the largest cash prize ever offered on reality television.

Broker lead actor Song Kang-ho has shared his thoughts on his recent Best Actor win at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.In a recent interview with South Korean outlet Korea JoongAng Daily, the South Korean actor, who plays Sang-hyun in the film, shared his sentiments on “finally” taking home an award at the Cannes Film Festival after previously starring in six films that have all debuted at the festival prior.Song is the second Korean to win Best Actor, after Jeon Do-yeon for 2007’s Secret Sunshine. “Of course, winning an award from such a prestigious festival as Cannes is a great and happy moment, an unforgettable turning point of my life,” Song said, before adding that awards are not as significant as they might seem.“I don’t think the action [of receiving an award] itself holds much significance,” he explained.
