Britain to be hotter than Mexico amid four-week 'July fry' weather

Temperatures across Britain could reach up to 36C over the coming weeks, with a four-week heatwave predicted. Forecasters have predicted that sweltering weather is just around the corner, with parts of the UK being hotter than Cancun by Saturday 9 July.
Brian Gaze, of The Weather Outlook, outlined his predictions, saying: “The mid-30s are expected, but 35C or higher would not be a surprise (this month). Some forecast models show extreme heat.” The high temperatures could see July 2022 become the hottest month in UK history, beating the 24-hour average of 17.8C from July 2006, where daytime temperatures peaked at 36.2C.

On Friday 8 July it's predicted that many places will see highs of 25C, before reaching into the 30s across the weekend.
Over in Cancun, Mexico, highs of just 29C are expected. A Met Office forecaster said: “After rain in the north and west, it turns warmer from Wednesday.
