Boris Johnson has announced in Parliament today that Plan B rules in England will be scrapped.
Face masks will not be legally required from next Thursday and will not be needed in schools from tomorrow, the Prime Minister confirmed.
Advice to work from home and the use of Covid passports for large venues will be axed from January 26, when the rules are set to expire in law.

Also from Thursday next week, people will no longer be obliged to wear face masks anywhere, including in shops and on public transport.
It comes after reports of Covid infection levels falling in most parts of the UK for the first time since early December.
Self-isolation rules for people who have Covid will end on March 24.
Mr Johnson said the legal requirement for people with coronavirus to self-isolate will be scrapped in March - and could be dropped even sooner.
Under current guidance, those who test positive for coronavirus have to quarantine for at least five full days, so long as they test negative on a lateral flow test on days five and six.
The PM said: "Because of the booster campaign, we can can return to Plan A."
He told MPs in the House of Commons more than 90% of over-60s across the UK had now had booster vaccines to protect them, and scientists believed the Omicron wave had peaked.
The under-fire PM said the Government had taken a "different path" to much of Europe and the "data are showing that, time and again, this Government got the toughest decisions right".
It comes as Mr Johnson fights for his job and rebel Tories launched a "pork pie plot" to oust him.
