Following a series of ministerial resignations, Boris Johnson looks set to resign as leader of the Conservative Party, according to the BBC. Boris, who was recently booed while celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, is believed to continue to serve as Prime Minister until the autumn. At present, the 58 year old lives at Number 11 Downing Street with his wife Carrie and their young family, though this would be set to change should he resign.
So, as Boris is expected to address the nation later on today, let’s take a look at the politician’s current selection of residences and homes… Throughout his time as Prime Minister, Boris has lived in a four bedroom flat above Number 11 Downing Street. While Number 10 Downing Street is typically associated with the role, previous leaders have opted to live at Number 11 due to it being larger in size. Due to this, Number 11 has undergone a series of renovations in the past, with former Prime Minister David Cameron giving members of the public a look inside while hosting the Obamas.
As part of the occasion, Samantha Cameron could be seen talking to Michelle Obama in what appeared to be the open plan living and kitchen area. The women perched on a mustard yellow sofa in front of a black shelving unit which was full of books and DVDs. In the background, a large TV was pictured on top of a dark wooden chest of draws.
