Bookies' favourite for James Bond, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, has reportedly already filmed the iconic gun barrel teaser scene.
Aaron, 32, who is best known for starring in superhero comedy Kick-Ass and Bullet Train, has reportedly filmed the scene after completing a screen test. It was reported that the father-of-two completed a screen test for 007 last month at Pinewood Studios, Berks.
Previous front-runners for the role - Idris Elba, 50, Tom Hardy, 45, Sam Heughan, 42, and Tom Hiddleston, 41 - were all ruled out by producers after claiming the next Bond should be in their 30s.
Eon Productions are set to reveal who will take over from Daniel Craig in the title role in March next year.
A movie insider told The Sun: “Aaron has impressed bosses so much that he has filmed one of the franchise’s famous gun barrel teaser scenes, something all the Bond actors do. That move takes him a step closer to signing a deal.
“Bosses at the brand were really impressed with his unique blend of acting intensity and his impressive back catalogue of action films.”
The new 007 will be reprising the role after Daniel Craig, 54, stepped down after starring in five films as the legendary spy.
After word got out about Aaron's impressive screen test, bookies have named him their favourite to take on the role. William Hill has placed odds over him becoming the new James Bond at 4/5.
