The Primark store in Bolton is to relocate it has been announced. The high-street fashion giant's store is currently housed within Crompton Place mall.
However, they have today revealed they will be moving into the Market Place Shopping Centre just around the corner. They will take over the old ground floor and part of the lower ground floor of the former Debenhams store in the centre to create a new anchor store in a multi-million-pound deal.
The new shop is expected to open in late 2024 or early 2025 dependent on construction work. Market Place bosses have described it as a 'massive vote of confidence' in the centre.

Whilst Bolton Council say it "a significant step forward for Bolton on a number of levels." The town hall have been pushing ahead with plans to demolish Crompton Place and say 'this deal is a huge step in the right direction to deliver this sooner."
Primark, who last year announced a £140m investment in the UK, will invest in the new store alongside Moorgarth Retail, the centre's owners.
Director of Place at Bolton Council Jon Dyson said: “We are delighted that Primark has committed to a continued presence in the town centre, and at such a prime location.
"As shopping habits change, we are working to consolidate the retail offer around Market Place and create a town centre that also provides a mix of residential, hospitality and leisure.
"We continue to explore options for the future of Crompton Place and this is a significant step towards the regeneration of this part of town.”

Rebecca Rubin Film and Media Reporter Billy Porter is preparing to portray the author and civil rights activist James Baldwin in an upcoming biopic. He will also co-write the untitled movie with Dan McCabe, which will be adapted from the 1994 book “James Baldwin: A Biography” by David Leeming. An emeritus professor of English at the University of Connecticut, Leeming was well versed in Baldwin as his friend of 25 years as well as his assistant. Porter says it has been a career-long dream to tell the story of Baldwin on film. Born in Harlem in 1924, Baldwin was a Black gay writer whose influential works include “Go Tell It on the Mountain,” “Notes of a Native Son” and “If Beale Street Could Talk.” In addition to writing, Baldwin fought for racial justice in the U.S. civil rights movement. In Leeming’s book, he’s described as a “complex, troubled, driven, and brilliant man” who has a “gift for compassion and love.”
