The idea of naming a hairstyle is a relatively new phenomenon in the celeb world. It all kicked off a few months ago when Maya Jama publicly dubbed her fringe hairpiece “Trisha”. Going further back than that, Beyoncé may have been the instigator when she came up with the Sasha Fierce alter ego.Though admittedly, that was more than just hair.
Now, Billie Shepherd might be joining in on the trend. Well, that’s if her followers have anything to do with it. Posting a new snap to her Instagram grid, Billie shows off a new hair look featuring very lengthy hair extensions in lieu of her usual mid-length bob.
“Spring Glam Catch Up,” she captions the snap. “I think we need names for your longer hair alter ego,” says Billie’s hair stylist James Johnson, to which others reply suggesting the names “Gertrude” and “Mabel”. Others are simply commenting on how great Billie looks with both long and short hair, with one saying: “You suit every style!” If you’re hoping to get a bit more info on how Billie manages to go from long to short so seamlessly, James has helpfully uploaded his own image of her look, captioning it: “Ok we went long today and I’m here for it.
Using my one piece wonder @wantthathairuk / shade platinum.” Billie isn’t the only celeb this week to be going against the current bob haircut trend. Only yesterday, Frankie Bridge – a long-time fan of a bob – debuted a new look on Instagram. In a snap taken after her Loose Women appearance, she shows off an updated lengthy, balayage style.
