Big Thief Guitarist Buck Meek Announces New Album, Signs to 4AD

Marta Balaga Oscar winner Andrew Ruhemann has returned to the director’s chair for “The Day I Became a Bird.” His first short in 13 years, based on a book by Chabbert Ingrid, will see a boy who falls in love – with a girl that only has eyes for birds. Desperate to get her attention, he comes up with a rather unusual plan. “I was at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair and that’s where I found this book. I thought it was a very intriguing image: Why is there this kid in a bird costume? It moved me,” he says. Ruhemann’s previous short, “The Lost Thing,” brought him an Academy Award in 2011, shared with Shaun Tan.  

Bring Me The Horizon followed their headline set at Download Festival on Friday night with an announcement of a new album and tour dates in 2024.The band will release their seventh album ‘Human: Next Gen’ on 12 Jan, by which time they will already have kicked off a run of UK and Ireland tour dates.

Bring Me The Horizon headlined Download Festival last night (June 9), and announced a new album and 2024 arena tour at the show.On September 15, the band will release ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’ via Sony/RCA, and head out on a UK and Ireland tour next year with support from Bad Omens, Cassyette and Static Dress.The new album follows the recent sharing of single ‘AmEN!’, which features Lil Uzi Vert and Daryl Palumbo of Glassjaw. ‘POST HUMAN: NeX GEn’ will follow their 2020 EP ‘Post Human: Survival Horror’.Presale tickets for the tour will begin on Wednesday, June 14 at 10am BST, with a general sale following on Friday, June 16, also at 10am.

Royal Blood have announced a series of North American tour dates set to take place later this year.The shows will be in support of their recently announced album ‘Back To The Water Below’, which is set for release on September 8.Split into two parts, the first leg of the tour will see the duo venture to New Jersey’s Sea.Hear.Now festival on September 16 to kick off the live dates. From there they will make stops in Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois and more, before wrapping up in New York on October 3, supported by Bad Nerves.For the second part of the North American tour, Royal Blood — comprised of Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher — will head to Los Angeles for a show at The Wiltern on November 9.

Ethan Shanfeld Dominic Fike will release his long-awaited sophomore album, “Sunburn,” on July 7 via Columbia Records. The album includes debut single “Dancing in the Courthouse,” which debuted in April ahead of the singer’s performance at Coachella, as well as “Ant Pile,” which he premiered at the festival and will officially release on Friday. “Sunburn” is currently available for pre-order and will be released on CD and vinyl with exclusive editions. Fike teased the album with a promotional video posted to social media. The 14-song album is produced by Jim-E-Stack, and Fike’s band features drummer Henry Kwapis (Dijon) and bassist Devon Workman.

Jorja Smith has confirmed details of her second album ‘Falling Or Flying’ alongside a string of UK record release shows.Set for release September 29, ‘Falling Or Flying’ is the follow-up to Smith’s debut album ‘Lost And Found’ and 2021’s “sonic waiting room” EP ‘Be Right Back’.According to a press release, the new album “thrillingly broaches any gap between Jazz, Soul, R&B and Funky House”.Smith said the songs on the record “touch on breakups, relationships with my friends, relationships with old friends, relationships with myself. It’s definitely about a lot of relationships, but every song I write I can sing it to myself,” she added.

Kylie Minogue has announced a new album, ‘Tension’.The follow-up to the Australian pop star’s 2020 album ‘Disco’ is set to land on September 22.
