Youngsters at an Armadale after school club have been making sure children living in Third World countries wake up to presents this Christmas.
The after-school club at Wee Gems Armadale have been fundraising over the past few months to raise money for the Samaritans Shoe Box Appeal.
Courtney-Ann Lennie from Wee Gems said the children got together and brainstormed some fundraising ideas and how they wanted to help which were followed through with support from staff.
She continued: “The children organised bake sales within the nursery as well as organising a sponsored walk across the Forth Road bridge.
“The other families and children from other age groups within the nursery also joined the sponsored walk to give it the one for all team spirit which was incredible to see.
“One of our children, Kaleb, who is aged six, climbed Ben Nevis along with his mum, sister, uncle and gran to help raise money too!
“The children took their independence skills and phoned shops in Livingston Centre to donate shoe boxes.
“They originally had a target of raising £500 however they have smashed their target and raised over £2000! The children have helped make over 100 shoe boxes for the cause and the remainder of the money was transferred over as a donation to the Samaritans.”
