During the 2022 MTV VMAs on Sunday night (August 28), Gatorade released a new commercial dedicated to the 40-year-old tennis star, which Beyonce, also 40, narrated.

“When the world writes her down in history, we’ll begin where she started. At love,” Beyonce says in the commercial. “A love that started a movement. A movement to always love exactly who you are. To be so in love with your identity that your very essence cannot be contained.”
“Serena started a movement – to realize that you can do anything when you love what makes you you. This is a film for Serena, with ❤️” Gatorade wrote along with the release of the commercial.
Beyonce and Gatorade‘s commercial comes shortly announced Serena announced that she is “evolving” – not “retiring” – from tennis after competing in the 2022 U.S. Open, which begins on Monday, August 29.
