Dancing on Ice contestant Ben Foden has revealed his Love Island pal Wes Nelson convinced him to sign up to the ITV skating show. Ben, who is making his debut on the ice this Sunday (19 January), revealed that Wes, who took part in DOI in 2019, gave him no choice but to accept after totally selling the experience.
The 36 year old, who became friends with Wes, 23, after meeting on The X Factor: Celebrity back in 2019, told OK! and other press outlets: “I spoke to a few guys before I accepted doing the show. So he was one of the reasons I said ‘yes’ in the end to doing the show.” Adding that he loved watching Wes when he skated alongside Vanessa Bauer, Ben said he hadn’t picked up any tips - but could only hope to do as well as him.The dad of three continued to say: “He did really well, but I didn’t get any tips from him on skating.” “But he said it was a wicked experience and to take it if the opportunity was there.” This comes after Ben opened up to OK! about how he hoped his upcoming Dancing on Ice stint would show a new side to him following his public split from former Saturdays star Una Healy.
