The BBC changed its programme schedule today following the announcement that the Queen is under medical supervision.
All planned programming was pulled on Thursday afternoon just after midday as a news special was broadcast due to the news the monarch's doctors are "concerned" for her health, as writes the Mirror.
Her Majesty remains in a "comfortable" condition at the Balmoral estate in Aberdeenshire and other members of the royal family are currently making their way to be with her.
Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have travelled to be with her and Prince William is on the way.
Buckingham Palace has given no further details about the Queen's health but said the latest advice from her doctors did not require the need to visit a hospital.
Viewers saw as the announcement interrupted Bargain Hunt, as a BBC newsreader confirmed: "Welcome to viewers on BBC One. We have had news from Buckingham Palace that the Queen is under medical supervision at Balmoral."
She then detailed concern for the Monarch's health, and the news remained on air instead of returning to usual programming.
The palace had released a rare statement at the time, confirming the news that was shared on the BBC.
The statement said: "Following further evaluation this morning, The Queen’s doctors are concerned for Her Majesty’s health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.
"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."
While the BBC scrapped programming, other channels including ITV and Channel 4 remained with regular schedules.
