Baz Luhrmann is reflecting on filming Elvis with star Austin Butler.
On Friday (September 30) the 60-year-old actor and the 31-year-old hit the red carpet together while arriving at the BAFTA A Life in Pictures: Baz Luhrmann event in London, England.
Ahead of the event, Baz praised Austin‘s devotion to portraying Elvis Presley in the hit movie, which was released in theaters over the summer.

“Austin never broke character,” Baz shared with The Post. “He was in character 24/7, 7 days a week for two years. I never heard him actually speak as Austin Butler until about three weeks ago.”
Baz added, “He’s finally shed the shell. He was so devoted to melding his spirit with Elvis’s.”
In an interview from earlier this year, Austin revealed he was hospitalized after wrapping production on Elvis, adding that the role was “all-consuming.”
