The movie was set to have a $90 million budget, and starred Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon (otherwise known as Batgirl), and was being directed by Ms. Marvel filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
The movie was already filmed and completed. As recently as April, Leslie was talking about her Batgirl suit.
“The new corporate regime at Warner Bros. Discovery has pivoted the company’s priorities back to theatrical features, leaving Batgirl without a proper home,” the outlet reported.
Sources close to the project told Deadline that word came down this week that this film did not make the cut.
Back in February, a familiar face was seen getting into character on set of the now scrapped project in Scotland.
