The comedian lived alongside the disgraced politician in the Australian jungle as they took part in the ITV reality show.
Despite facing huge backlash for his decision to go on the show, and even losing the Tory whip, the former Health Secretary made it to the final and finished in third place.
Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show about whether Matt Hancock is still part of the series 22 contestants WhatsApp group, Babatunde said: “I checked today and he’s not in the group anymore. I don’t know if he’s been kicked out or if he left of his own accord.”
The comedian also spoke about his experience of living in camp with Hancock, saying: “I won’t lie, it was tough but I tried to make good out of a bad situation. You’re in here, I’ve got to be your teammate and he came in flying, winning trials.
“But at the end of the day, I do believe in second chances and I was just like let me at least try to be the nice person.”
During his time in the jungle, Hancock was voted to complete a host of Bushtucker Trials and received grillings over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic by fellow contestants including Boy George and Loose Women's Charlene White.
He earned a staggering £320,000 for the stint, with £10k donated to charity. Despite the backlash for taking part in the show, Hancock has now set up his own television programming and broadcasting company Greenhazel, where he is listed as the sole director.
