The teenage boy who murdered 12-year-old schoolgirl Ava White told a police officer "shut up you nonce" while being questioned about the killing. Ava was fatally stabbed in the neck Liverpool city centre on November 25 last year.
A trial heard a 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, knifed Ava in the neck in an argument over him filming her on Snapchat. The boy, referred to as Boy A, smirked and laughed afterwards, then ran away and ditched his flick knife, designer coat and mobile phone in a "cover up".
The killer - accused of showing a "callous disregard" for the schoolgirl - took selfies, got butter for crumpets and played Call of Duty at a friend's flat while Ava was dying, the Liverpool ECHO reports. When phoned by his mum and told detectives were looking for him, he hung up, then texted her: "Gonna end up going the cells for nothing."

Boy A claimed he acted in self-defence, but a jury took just two hours and eight minutes to unanimously find him guilty of murder at Liverpool Crown Court. He started crying as members of Ava's family cheered, clapped and shouted "get in".
The youth was arrested in Toxteth at around 10.30pm on November 25 last year - just two hours after the murder in School Lane in Liverpool city centre. The jury heard edited transcripts of five police interviews carried out in the days that followed.
Prosecutors outlined a series of lies he told police - including giving a "false alibi" and blaming another boy for the stabbing. The ECHO can now reveal his outburst in his first interview which the jury never heard.

Fred Ward has passed away aged 79.The actor, who starred in films such as Sweet Home Alabama, Escape from Alcatraz, Southern Comfort, The Right Stuff and Remo Williams: The Adventure Begins, is said to have died on Sunday 8 May. A cause of death has not been disclosed. Announcing the news of his passing, his rep Ron Hofmann told the New York Post in a statement: "I am sad to announce the passing of acclaimed actor Fred Ward, who passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at age 79.
