JLS singer JB Gill has been inundated with requests from fans to officiate their wedding after taking on the role at bandmate Aston Merrygold’s wedding. Aston and his wife Sarah Richards tied the knot at the stunning Palm House in Liverpool’s Sefton Park, and JB was given the very special role of officiating their big day.

This, as one of the surprised bad guys says in this new Violent Night trailer, is not your typical mall Santa.

When it came to officiating their wedding, Aston Merrygold and Sarah Richards wanted the role to go to someone who knows them inside out. And that person was Aston’s JLS bandmate JB Gill, who got ordained specially for the role. The couple, who married in Liverpool’s Sefton Park Palm House, asked the 35 year old to undertake the role by gifting him with a special hip flask, which JB had handy on the day to steady any nerves Aston had.

Aston Merrygold and Sarah Richards’ long-awaited wedding day fell on September 18, just a day before The Queen’s funeral following her passing on September 8. And the couple ensured they paid their respects to the late monarch, asking their guests to take part in a minute’s silence at 8pm to remember Her Majesty. The moment came during the speeches for the big day, which lasted an hour and 20 minutes.
