A new chapter. King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate debuted a new royal portrait on Saturday, October 1. 

Her Majesty the Queen's cause of death has been revealed to be old age, with no other contributing factors.The late monarch died aged 96 at Balmoral Castle in Ballater, Scotland, on 8 September at 15:10pm. She's said to have died "peacefully" with her family at her beside - her beloved corgis Muick and Sandy included.

The Queen took a liking to BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker in her last days at Balmoral. Her Majesty passed away earlier this month at the age of 96 in Scotland, and while the Queen was pictured shaking new prime minster Liz Truss's hand a couple of days before her death, it's been said that her final days also included watching the BBC weatherman.

Queen Elizabeth II's coffin has begun it's final journey to Windsor Castle. The coffin had been Lying-in-State in at Westminster Hall since last Thursday, but was taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey on Monday morning, where Her Majesty's state funeral service took place.Following the funeral, the coffin traveled in procession from Westminster Abbey to Wellington Arch, and then to Windsor. Once there, the coffin was placed inside the State Hearse.

The world will be watching. Queen Elizabeth II will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Prince Philip, in St George’s Chapel during her funeral on Monday, September 19.

Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday 19 September will take place at Westminster Abbey, and King Charles III, 73, confirmed that the day will be a national bank holiday. On the morning of the sombre day, the lying-in-State period will end and the Queen’s Coffin will be taken in procession from the Palace of Westminster to Westminster Abbey, where the State Funeral Service will take place.

The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drama continued into the weekend as it wasn’t clear if the Sussexes would be attending a pre-funeral reception at Buckingham Palace on the eve of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.  The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who settled in California after stepping down as senior royals in 2020 – reportedly initially received an invitation to the Sunday evening reception, but conflicting reports said they were and weren’t expected to attend.  According to the Telegraph, they have now been uninvited because palace officials insisted that the reception hosted by King Charles III and Camilla, the queen consort, is only for working royals, which Harry and Meghan are not. Queen Elizabeth II died on Sept. 8 at the age of 96, and the royal family has now announced that the funeral service will be held Monday, Sept. 19 at 6 a.m.

The late Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin arrived in London on Tuesday, September 13, five days following her death at age 96.

Following the death of The Queen last week, King Charles has had a lot of changes to deal with as he became the new monarch following his mother’s sad passing. Alongside his grief, the new King, supported by his devoted wife, Camilla, Queen Consort must now navigate his mother’s funeral, his impending coronation and readjust to his life as the head of state, after spending so much of his life waiting to follow in his mother’s formidable footsteps.

After the Queen's death, her son became King Charles III and his wife Camilla took on the title of Queen Consort - not Queen. Whilst they sound similar, the titles indicate a key difference.

On September 8, Buckingham Palace announced the news that The Queen had passed away at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.The news was announced in a statement that read: "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow." The royal family is set to have many changes in the days following Her Majesty’s death at the age of 96, including dividing her net worth and the homes she amassed over her long life and 70 year reign. According to Forbes magazine, the monarchy as a whole is worth £76.5 billion with the Queen worth a fraction of that figure. On her own, Her Majesty is thought to be worth a still pretty impressive £389 million, according to the New York Post.

"The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon," an official statement from the palace read.
