Detectives are investigating an arson attack at the former home of a woman jailed after her ex-husband was found tortured to death. Firefighters were called to Coleen Campbell's former home in Clayton, east Manchester, hours after she was locked up for 13 years for the manslaughter of Thomas Campbell, her ex-spouse of 10 years.
Police and firefighters were called to Bamford Street in the early hours of Thursday (February 23). They discovered a fire at the house where Mr and Mrs Campbell used to live with their two children.
Firefighters rushed to the scene and put out the blaze. It is understood the property is currently empty. No injuries were reported. GMP said no arrests have been made, and an investigation has been launched.
The Manchester Evening News has made the decision not to identify the particular property. Campbell's address was listed as Bamford Street during the trial, becoming publicly-available information.

Mr Campbell, 38, was brutally murdered in his own home in Mossley, Tameside, after being ambushed by three men when he went to open his front door in July last year. On Wednesday, Reece Steven, 29, one of the three attackers, was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 37 years in prison, after being found guilty of murder.
The second attacker is alleged to be John Belfield, 28, who is on the run and wanted on suspicion of murder. The identity of the third is unknown.
