A man is being hunted by cops after holding staff at a Scots shop at knifepoint before fleeing with a two-figure sum of cash. Police say the man entered a shop in Clydebank Shopping Centre on Sylvania Way at around 9.10am on Saturday, 1 October before demanding cash.
Authorities say he threatened staff with a bladed weapon before fleeing on foot towards the Forth and Clyde Canal. He is believed to have taken a two-figure sum of cash.
The man is described as being around 40 years old, approximately 5ft 9in tall and of medium build and speaking with a local Glasgow accent. He was wearing a black tracksuit, dark New York Yankees baseball cap and multi-coloured ski mask.
Officers are asking anyone who can assist with their enquiries to get in touch.
Detective Constable Catriona MacQueen of Clydebank Police Station said: “Nobody was injured during this incident but it was a frightening experience for the staff members involved.
“We are working to identify the man involved and would urge anyone who has any information or who believes they may have seen him to let us know.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 0920 of 1 October, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
