Armed police officers raced to an Edinburgh street this afternoon after reports of an alleged disturbance understood to involve weapons.

A man has been arrested after armed police were called to reports of a ‘disturbance’ at a property in Fife on Christmas morning which resulted in a six hour standoff.
Uniformed officers locked down Memorial Road in Methil shortly after 9am on December 25 after the alarm was raised.
A video from the scene shows two armed police attempting to enter a property in the street while a third officer, who was also carrying a gun, stood guard.
The incident, which left neighbours concerned, lasted more than six hours before a 47-year-old was peacefully arrested.
Police Scotland have confirmed that he has now been charged and is due to appear at court at a later date. No injuries were reported.
A statement from the force said: “Around 9.10am on Sunday, 25 December, 2022, police were called to a report of a disturbance and concern for a man at a property on Memorial Road, Methil.
“Officers attended and, around 3.50pm, a 47-year-old man was peacefully arrested. He was charged and is expected to appear in court at a later date.
“There were no injuries or threat to the wider community.”
