A dad who was shot dead in broad daylight has become the latest person to lose their life after another weekend of bloodshed on the streets of Greater Manchester.
Zikel Bobmanuel, who had recently had a child, died after being found with gunshot wounds on Sandywell Street in Openshaw in east Manchester on Saturday (March 25).
Residents stood in horror as they watched officers in white suits comb the street, taking pictures and speaking to neighbours - while detectives launched a murder investigation.

In a statement yesterday, GMP said one man, 33, had been arrested after what they believe to be a 'targeted attack'. They continue to hunt one suspect who is believed to have fled the scene in a vehicle.
In the same weekend, an 18-year-old boy was left with serious injuries after being stabbed in Moston, and two men also suffered serious wounds after being knifed outside a petrol station in Salford.
The carnage comes after at least 27 stabbings and five shootings in Greater Manchester in just the first three months of this year. The latest shooting is the first fatal one this year, since dad-of-two Liam Smith was shot and doused with acid in Wigan in December last year.
Mr Bobmanuel's family said the father, whose youngest child is just six weeks old, 'had the heart of his girlfriend in his hand' and that they are 'devastated beyond belief' in a statement.
“Zikel was many things to many people, he was a good friend, a hard-working colleague, part of a large extended family, but ultimately, he was his mother’s son, her pride and joy," they said.
