Holly Willoughby has reportedly made a vow to never publicly talk about the recent scandal surrounding Phillip Schofield again, after addressing it this week during live morning TV.The This Morning presenter, 42, who returned to the show on Monday, 5 June, after an extended half-term break, told the British public that she felt 'shaken and let down' by her former best friend, while reading out a statement. It came after an intense few weeks for the popular daytime show, during which long-time host Philip stepped down from his role, amid "feud" rumours with Holly. He admitted to an affair with a younger male colleague just days later.
The fallout has resulted in intense scrutiny for Phillip, Holly, and This Morning, as the show's culture has been branded "toxic" and some people have even questioned Holly's validity to continue as presenter. After sharing her thoughts with a pre-prepared statement on the show, it seems that Holly will be drawing a line under it when it comes to her public persona. “This is the only time Holly will ever speak about Phil and what has happened.
She still feels incredibly angry and upset by his actions and is very much still trying to get her head around it," a source told The Sun. They added, “It took a lot for Holly to compose herself and speak about what has gone on in the last few weeks. But people expecting her to sit and pour her heart out will be waiting for a long time." OK! has approached Holly's representatives for comment.
