Andrew Lloyd Webber Launches Free Musical Theater Streaming Service

Sonos is launching its very own streaming service.

The musical stage adaptation of the Phantom of The Opera made famous by music mogul Andrew Lloyd Webber is coming to YouTube for free for one night only.

Andrea Bocelli’s Music for Hope concert has broken records to become the most-watched live-streamed classical musical event of all time.  

It was not long after Netflix emerged as the world's leading streaming service that other major TV companies wanted to offer their own option.

Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber joined the cast of Jesus Christ Superstar Live on Easter Sunday (April 12) to raise money for The Actor's Fund's coronavirus relief program.Appearing on digital Broadway talk show Stars in the House, the legendary composer reflected on the unique origins of the Biblical musical. "When Tim Rice came up with the idea of writing about the last seven days of the life of Christ, nobody thought that it could remotely work as a theater show," Webber told host Seth Rudetsky.

With Americans spending a great deal more time in their homes amidst the coronavirus pandemic, multiple streaming services and pay cable networks are currently offering 30-day free trials or discounted pricing to new subscribers in an effort to help families safely and happily pass the time indoors.
