One of the biggest entertainment stories of 2022 was the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Yes, it was mostly an exercise in trashy, tabloid-y fodder, but it did seem to end with the public consensus that Depp was somehow a decent guy.

And now the pair's lawyers have agreed a deal which will see the 36-year-old actress' insurance company pay $1 million to her ex-husband to end the case.
