Amber Heard has finally ponied up the $1 million she owed ex-husband Johnny Depp after losing a nationally-televised defamation trial in Virginia last year, according to a source close to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor. The six-week courtroom spectacle ended in June 2022 with a $10.35 million judgment against Heard for defaming Depp by penning a 2018 op-ed that referred to herself as a domestic abuse victim.The jury handed Heard $2 million in her countersuit.  Depp, 60, agreed to settle the case last December for $1 million, which was paid this month by the "Aquaman" actress' insurance company.

Johnny Depp is donating his money from ex-wife Amber Heard to some very worthy causes.A source close to the star tells ET the actor will distribute portions of the$1 million settlement from Heard to five different charities, with $200,000 going to each charity. The charities that Depp has selected range from those that benefit sick children, conserving the environment and those that provide safe housing for underserved communities.The charities include Make-A-Film (which pairs actors, writers, directors and producers with children who are battling life-threatening or serious illnesses), The Painted Turtle (an organization that is part of Paul Newman's legacy and provides a life-changing free camp experience for sick children, inspiring them to reach beyond their illness), Red Feather (which partners with Indigenous communities to develop and implement lasting and impactful housing solutions), Teitaroa Society (Marlo Brando's charity that ensures island and costal communities have a future), and Amazonia Fund Alliance (which helps to finance the projects of some of the most important Brazilian Non-profit organizations such as SPVS, SOS AMAZÔNIA, ALOK Institute). ET has reached out to Heard for a statement.Depp filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard in March 2019 after the  published an op-ed she wrote about being the victim of domestic violence.

Amber Heard is headed back to the big screen. The 37-year-old actress, who has stepped away from the limelight since losing the 2022 defamation case brought by her ex-husband Johnny Depp, 60,  will appear in the upcoming thriller In The Fire, which is set to premiere at the 69th Taormina Film Festival in Italy. It will be the first time she has promoted a film since her court battle, reported Deadline.

Deadline revealed on June 11 that the actress will appear at the 69th Taormina Film Festival for the world premiere of In The Fire.The festival takes place June 23-July 1, 2023, in Sicily, with the film’s premiere June 24 at the Teatro Antico di Taormina.

Heard appears to be coming home dressed casually in a loose long-sleeve black shirt tucked into her pants.In the video, apparently taken by the real estate firm Nest Seekers International, a man can be heard asking her in Spanish, «How is your new life here in Madrid?» to which she responds in perfect Spanish with, «I love Spain, so much.»The man then asks, «Are you going to stay here?» and she responds, «Yes, I hope so.

Johnny Depp spent the last year proving he is still a major force in Hollywood.  His highly publicized defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard came to a conclusion exactly one year ago.  During their bombshell six-week court battle, the 59-year-old actor and 37-year-old actress both testified, lobbing shocking allegations of physical and sexual abuse against each other. On June 1, 2022, a Virginia jury ruled largely in Depp's favor, as they found Heard liable on all three counts of defamation stemming from a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she referred to herself as domestic abuse survivor.

The group announced the news Monday morning, stating that Depp has been advised to avoid travel for the time being. The Hollywood Vampires — composed of Depp, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith member Joe Perry, as well as Tommy Henriksen — have rescheduled performances for Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (in Manchester, N.H., Boston and Bethel, N.Y., respectively). The group will now perform in those locations in July. “We are sad to share that the Hollywood Vampires will be rescheduling our three U.S. tour dates this coming week,” the band wrote in a statement on social media. “Johnny has sustained a painful injury to his ankle following his recent appearances and has been advised by his doctor not to travel. He is devastated by this turn of events, but looks forward to resting up so all four Vampires can bring their absolute best to the tour in Europe.”

Johnny Depp is stepping back into the limelight. The actor made his highly publicized return to the Cannes Film Festival this week as his film, opened the 76th annual event. During a press conference on Wednesday, Depp remarked on what commentators have dubbed his «big-screen comeback» following the controversial defamation trial with his ex-wife, Amber Heard. «In regards to me and my life, the majority of what you’ve read is fantastically, horrifically written fiction,» Depp told reporters. «Did I feel a boycott by Hollywood? Well, you’d have to not have a pulse to feel at that point, 'None of this is happening, it’s just a weird joke or I have been asleep for 35 years.' Of course, when you’re asked to resign from a film you’re doing, because of something that is merely a bunch of kind of vowels and consonants floating in the air, you feel a boycott,» he continued. In 2018, Heard wrote an op-ed for the  where she came forward with domestic abuse allegations, though she didn't mention Depp by name.
