CBS Launches a New Performers With Disabilities Talent Initiative, Tied to Upcoming TV Season

Michael Schneider Variety Editor at Large CBS is expanding its representation and inclusion programs to launch a new “CBS Performers with Disabilities Talent Initiative.” The plan, which starts with the upcoming 2022-2023 TV season, is to make sure the Eye network’s programming includes “meaningful representation and inclusion for all underrepresented groups, including performers with disabilities in series regular, guest star or co-starring roles in current series and pilots, playing characters specifically written with a disability as well as roles that do not specify one.” The new initiative comes following the 2019 Ruderman Family Foundation campaign to increase the audition opportunities for performers with disabilities and improve the portrayal of disabilities in television. CBS was the first network to sign that pledge, to increase the number of roles that cast actors with disabilities.

It was a question Bill asked me in a scene in Season 2. And now it is for all of the characters,” Winkler tells Variety. “Is there atonement?” On this episode of the “Variety Awards Circuit Podcast,” we talk to Emmy-winning “Barry” star Henry Winkler on how dark the show went this season, especially for his character, as well as what he hopes might come next.

Amanda Seyfried and Sydney Sweeney lead Hollywood stars speaking out on filming nude scenes

Celebrities have varying degrees of comfort in front of the camera, especially when it comes to filming a scene where partial or full nudity is required.  "White Lotus" actress Sydney Sweeney has vowed to continue doing nude scenes as they have given her confidence to love her body just as it is, while "The Dropout" star Amanda Seyfried admitted earlier this month that she used to feel pressured into getting undressed at the beginning of her career. For Sweeney, who has filmed many intimate scenes as Cassie Howard on Sam Levinson's "Euphoria," an intimacy coordinator would be on set to make sure the actress was supported and comfortable throughout filming any scenes.  Dr.
