Today's This Morning descended into chaos as hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary were left in hysterics as they interviewed leprechaun whisperer Kevin Wood. ITV's St Patrick's Day celebrations took a rather bizarre turn when Kevin, who claims to be the world's last leprechaun whisperer, scolded the presenters and accused them of not taking him seriously.
Kevin told the laughing hosts that there were 236 leprechauns left in the world, and seemed to become annoyed when Alison later asked: "There’s not very many left are there?" To which, Kevin replied: "I told you a minute ago. You’re not listening." And he snapped at the presenter for a second time after she told him he was funny, responding with: "I'm not funny, I'm dead serious".
Kevin also made known his displeasure at Alison's outfit choice, as he added: "You were exactly the same in Ireland now, and then you turn up in your pyjamas." Throughout the rather strange interview, Kevin held a bag under his arm and claimed that inside was a leprechaun. “Put your arms round the table in case he jumps up,” he advised Alison and Dermot.
Responding to this advice Dermot got into position, as Alison asked: "Is he not going to suffocate? Let's get him out and get some air into him." Kevin then replied: "He’s okay, don’t you worry.” The presenters were, perhaps unsurprisingly, left disappointed when Kevin opened the bag and no leprechaun appeared. Reacting this Kevin exclaimed: "Oh for God sake! The wee f**ker", much to the shock of Alison and Dermot.
