Alan Carr looked downcast as heventured out for the first time since confirming his split from husband Paul Drayton on Sunday. The comedian, 45, still had his wedding ring on as he went out for a walk in Southend, Essex after visiting a local coffee shop. Former chat show host Alan wrapped up warm in a bright red coat with a faux fur trim around the hood.
He wore a pair of green tracksuit bottoms and a pair of comfortable trainers while holding his coffee cup in his hand. The star protected himself from the cool January weather by wearing a bobble hat and he headed out on the pier to take enjoy a sea view on his outing. Funnyman Alan and his party planner partner husband, 50, announced their separation on Friday.
A spokesperson said in a statement: 'After 13 years as a couple and three years of marriage, Alan Carr and Paul Drayton would like to announce they are separating. 'They have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go their separate ways. We request that their privacy is respected at this sensitive time.
'Paul then posted on Instagram that he is currently in rehab for alcoholism, after a 'challenging couple of years' which saw him plead guilty last November to a drink-driving charge. He explained he had 'proactively' checked himself into rehab at the beginning of the year to seek help for his ongoing battle with the illness. 'It is with great sadness that I share the news that Alan and I have jointly decided to end our marriage,' he wrote under a sunset photo with a heart drawn on top.
