Adele Roberts has said she feels like her “body is not my own” as she continues to receive treatment for bowel cancer. Adele, 43, was diagnosed with cancer in October 2021 and went on to have a tumour surgically removed. Since then, the I’m A Celebrity star has been receiving treatment for the illness, and has now opened up about how it makes her feel.
Sharing a snap of her next to CT scan machine and wearing a hospital gown, Adele wrote: “Lovely trip in the tube! “The day is finally here. One hospital ‘bag for life’ - Two cups of aniseed drink, a bit a liquid that makes you all hot and feel like you need a wee… and a quick go in the tube. Job done! Fingers crossed I get the all clear.” Adele went on: “I feel like I’m living in someone else’s house at the moment.
My body isn’t my own. All bloated, sore and it won’t go to sleep at night. “I do feel like I’m turning a corner though.
Chemo recovery is just as brutal as the treatment it’s self! Haha. Grateful for my little pink snipers though. Let’s hope they went full ‘Call of Duty’ on the enemy and kicked cancers a*s!” The radio host also thanked her partner Katie, her family, friends, and the NHS for all their support, and credited her Radio 1 listeners in particular for “keeping me going”.
Adele added that she hopes to get her scan results in the next couple of weeks. Previously, Adele has also described her girlfriend Katie as being her “strength” through her cancer battle, and expressed her desire to marry her. Speaking to Naga Munchetty on BBC Radio 5 Live last month, Adele said of her girlfriend, who has also been her carer: "We've just got stronger and closer, and it's made me realise what an incredible human she is.
