Ok, folks, are you ready for Hercule Poirot to get a little spooky? Well, if you are hoping to see Kenneth Branagh return with another Agatha Christie tale, this time with a potentially supernatural twist, you’re in luck. According to THR, Kenneth Branagh and 20th Century Studios are once again teaming up for an Agatha Christie-inspired film, the third since 2017. And just like the last two features, “A Haunting in Venice” is getting an all-star cast.

It often takes star power to get a challenging project made, and Polish filmmaker Pawel Pawlikowski has gotten just that for his new drama, “The Island.” THR reports that Academy Award-winner Joaquin Phoenix and two-time Academy Award nominee Rooney Mara are joining the film. Liza Foreman CANNES — TV series “Agatha Christie’s Hjerson” has been picked up by streamer Topic for North America and by the Australian channel SBS, ZDF Studios announced Tuesday at Cannes Mipcom trade fair. “Agatha Christie’s Hjerson” is being sold as both a 45-minute series and four feature-length stories. Topic has taken exclusive rights for the U.S. and Canada. SBS, a multicultural Australian broadcaster, has also closed an exclusive deal for the drama series. Additionally, ZDF Studios has licensed the program to VOD platforms Google Play, iTunes, Amazon, Deutsche Telekom and Huawei for German speaking territories, as well as Germany’s public broadcaster, ZDF.

Set in post-WWII Venice on All Hallows’ Eve, the film follows another mystery featuring the celebrated sleuth Poirot.
