A teenager took part in the ferocious murder of his five-year-old stepbrother alongside his step-parents and a couple who trafficked more than 40 vulnerable men to the UK from Slovakia and forced them into slavery were just some of the notorious criminals from across the UK locked up last month.
Other offenders facing lengthy jail terms include the man who murdered vulnerable six-year-old Rikki Neave nearly 30 years ago and an Afghanistan veteran who stabbed his neighbours to death while their young children slept upstairs following a long-running dispute over parking.
The founder of a banned fascist group described as the “biggest Nazi of the lot” and a rapper who petrol-bombed a woman’s home after mistaking it for the house of his rap rival were also put behind bars in June.

These are some of the most shocking court cases that have been widely reported in the UK in recent weeks.
A man and a woman were jailed after a 10-year-old boy was killed by a dog in an “utterly tragic and needless event”. Jack Lis was mauled to death by an American Bully or XL Bully dog called Beast while playing at a friend’s house in Pentwyn in Caerphilly, South Wales, after school on November 8 last year.
Amy Salter, 29, and Brandon Hayden, 19, were arrested and charged following the youngster’s death. Salter previously admitted being a person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control, causing injury resulting in Jack’s death. Hayden pleaded guilty to being the owner of the dog that killed Jack, and he admitted a further five offences of owning a dog dangerously out of control between November 4 and 7 last year.
